Our Mission:

The Business & Professional Women were founded on the belief that God has empowered and equipped, by the Holy Spirit, the Business and Professional Women’s Federation to serve as Godly examples in their homes, schools, churches, communities, and the world; our mission is to share our God-given resources and expertise; to care for the general welfare of all people; and to help spread love, joy, happiness, and the Word of God, by being living testimonies to people everywhere.

Available Scholarships:

• Dorothy S. Johnson Scholarship (Award Amount: $1,000)
  Only available to active members of MS Southern First Eccl. Jurisdiction – District #1
  
• Helen T. Martin Scholarship (Award Amount: $1,500)
  Available to all active members of MS Southern First Eccl. Jurisdiction
  For education and related majors only.

Review Process: All applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Panel.  The high school graduates will be given first consideration, followed by college students (undergraduate) unless specified in scholarship requirements.

Award Date: Winners will be awarded at MS Southern First Eccl. Jurisdiction – District #1 Meeting during the District Missionary’s Night service. Applicants must be present and may be asked to present their essays during the District meeting.

General Scholarship Requirements:
Scholarships require the applicant to:

• Proof of Current Cumulative GPA of 3.0 
• An active member of his/her local church
• Demonstrate leadership and community service
• Two letters of recommendation, one from the pastor. The letter must not be from a family member.
• Show proof of college enrollment 
• Submit application by midnight September 4, 2022
• All applications must be received online by midnight of the provided deadline date for the applicant to be considered for the scholarship.  Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. 
• Both letters of recommendation and essay must be typed and submitted as a JPG, PDF or MS Word document. Anything illegible will be discarded.
• Essay must be no fewer than 800 and no more than 1600 words in length and must be typed and double-spaced.
• Letter of acceptance from a college or university

Dorothy S. Johnson Scholarship Requirements:

• The recipient’s parents are asked to pledge a contribution toward the cause.
• Application’s church must contribute as a scholarship foundation sponsor.
  Please verify with your church if they plan to contribute before submitting an application.
• An active member of a church within the MS Southern First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction

Helen T. Martin Scholarship Requirements:

• Major: Education or related studies
